So, I participated in the Sex and the City photo submission thing:

30 pictures selected from various photographers here in the Windsor area. The pictures be on display at the Art Gallery of Windsor on Saturday, May 31st . A evening of celebrities,the who’s who of Windsor (not me), I bet even the mayor will be in attendance.

The pictures will also be distributed in a coffee table book to the guests that arrive. If I read the invite right I will be receiving a copy of this book.

After the event, the pictures will be on display at the Once Upon A Tea Cup Cafe on Banwell. So once they are there does anyone want to make a trip out there?

Anyways, two or three of my pictures are allegedly going to be in the show. The unspecific number is for unknown reasons (coughgavin couldn’t remembercough). So your guess which ones are in the show are as good as mine.

I know, posting the pictures before the event is rather jerky, but I’ll admit I feel slighted that the artists who helped the show weren’t invited. But at 175.00 a ticket, free meal AND free booze I wouldn’t exactly be rushing to invite a closet drunk like me either! So I understand once you invite the photographers, then why not the models, and the boyfriends of the the pinky toes modeled, etc etc. It spirals out of control after that point.

Oh and in all likelihood, since I have a new printer that does excellent prints, I will be offering these as 8×10 for sale.

I should also mention the assignment was shoes in-case your eyes failed you. But I felt Sex and the City is so much more than just shoes, I mean they had a lot of sex, and drinking, and smoking.

Still working on stuff for the doll pictures, plus some actual art work. Well… I say art.

I for the most part believe that less is more, when it comes to photos. There are times though when that idea breaks down. For example in this case, the Zombies of Cerah Steele and Kat Gat. I kinda know which ones I think are spectacular, but overall I think the photos turned out excellent. Too excellent/unique to only show a couple of them.

Anyways, it was a fun night of liquid latex, booze, and zombies.

A couple weeks ago I took pictures of Jenn T. It was her first time taking pictures like this and I think she did really well.

She brought a friend with her that was interested in photography, in fact he takes classes in it. In between shooting with Jenn I was talking to him about photos, trying to show him things that I learnt from… books, websites, etc. I believe in giving out knowledge, it doesn’t hurt, it gives you a good feeling, it generally helps your reputation.

Apparently, at some point he showed his professor my website and my work. I got the impression the professor was less than impressed. Which reminds me of another ding-a-ling here in Windsor that has said something similar.

The negativity I receive used to kinda get to me, but more and more I see it as people reacting jealously. I’m doing things, and free to do things, that they maybe can’t because of the little box they have placed themselves in.

These are just someone of the photos I took of the beautiful miss Kat Gat, always a favourite of mine. Then later on Cerah and I, well 99% Cerah, turned her into a grotesque zombie. She looks pretty good for a freshly undead girl. Those pictures are coming still.

Tangent Ahead

Now, usually I will be the first one to rag on my photos because all I see are the technical flaws in them. But people still say I’m good. So I was reading some profiles on MM, and these particular people are very trollish on MM. They cause problems, but if you read their profiles they think they so awesome that they would probably claim they taught Jesus to walk on water. All there stuff is super substandard, like not by a little, but by a lot. Still, they have the words ‘limited TFP’ and I have to wonder what photos they were paid to do and who paid them.

It just boggles my mind that people don’t know the difference between a good photo and a bad one.

They both wanted something a little more sexually charged. So this is what they got.

I’ve been accused of having photos that belong in magazines. I of course disagree, I’ve never seen any photos like what I take in any magazines. However, a few of these images I could almost see in an advert for cologne or jeans.
